Fort Dodge = Quality Life

The community of Fort Dodge is located on the Des Moines River in Webster County, approximately 90 miles north of Iowa’s capital, Des Moines, and has a population of approximately 25,230. The Fort Dodge Community School District has approximately 3,700 students attending nine schools: one early learning center for preschool and transitional kindergarten, four elementary buildings which house grades kindergarten through 4; two middle schools, one which houses grades 5-6 and one which houses grades 7-8; one high school which houses grades 9-12 and an alternative high school.

Fort Dodge offers exceptional opportunities for employment, entertainment, education, shopping, and just living a well-balanced Midwest life. The Fort Dodge area is known for the following:

A quality education system from pre-kindergarten through post-secondary (Iowa Central Community College and Buena Vista University)

Exceptional healthcare, which includes Trinity Regional Medical Center, Berryhill Center for Mental Health, Paula Baber Hospice House, and a soon to be new cancer center.

Recreational facilities including an aquatic center, softball/baseball/soccer complex, an extensive trail system with 15 new trails in 2012, an off-highway vehicle park for all-terrain vehicles and motor bikes, a speedway, designated areas for remote control vehicles, a skateboard park, community orchard, numerous city and county parks and lakes, and locations for music concerts throughout the year. Among the recreational activities available are fishing, kayaking, boating, water skiing, swimming, hiking, cross country skiing, ice skating, biking, golfing, and camping.

A diverse faith community

Community celebrations, which consists of Market on Central, Apple Fest, Dragon Boats, Blues Under the Trees, Couch Freak Boogie Skydiving, Indoor Triathlon, Frontier Days, Adventure Race, Hy-Vee 5k/Half Marathon, Dayton Rodeo, Gowrie 4th of July Celebration, and concerts at the Oleson Park Bandshell every Sunday evening throughout the summer.
