The Giving Tree is back. Help someone less fortunate this year and take a tag from the Giving Tree. It's located near the main front entrance. Take a tag, buy an appropriate gift and then return it to Mr. McBride in room 26 by Dec. 14. This is a great cause, so let's help as many kids as possible.

ATTENTION SENIORS: Senior Pictures and Senior quotes are due JANUARY 25th!! Email your picture to Ms. Coronado or have your photographer email it to Ms.Coronado!

Order forms for the senior panoramic photo are due back to the main office by Friday December 9th.

ATTENTION SENIORS: The deadline to order your FDSH graduation announcements and Senior accessories is approaching quickly. To avoid late fees, please order at www.highschool.herffjones.com by Friday, Dec. 16th.

Students taking Iowa Central FlexNet courses have less than 10 days to complete them. Don't wait until the last minute to get assignments turned in! Return your books to Mrs. Hays as soon as you are done with your Iowa Central FlexNet class. Books must be returned by Dec 16th.

Learn about an opportunity to travel the world after school today in the Little Theater.

Adbel - Kader Education Project: Meet the challenge.  Evaluate the significance of Emir Adbelkader’s like and his struggles during peace, war, imprisonment, and exile in light of current events in America and the world.  This is a great opportunity for dialog about stereotyping, about Islam and learning about it cultural heroes.  Essays must be submitted by April 15, 2017. Iowa Automobile Dealers Foundation for Education: Fifteen $2000 scholarships are available for students interested in pursuing careers in the auto industry.  Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 and recipients will be announced in May 2017. Applicants must be committed to the pursuit of a career in an automobile dealership.  Potential career paths include: Automotive Technician, Diesel Technician, Collision Repair, Salesperson, Accountant, Marketing Specialist or Business Administrator. IT Leadership Forum Scholarship:  The $1000  IT Leadership Forum Scholarship is awarded to Iowa High School seniors who have been involved in STEM classes or clubs and plan to pursue a technology-related degree t an Iowa college, university or community college. To be considered the applicant must be an Iowa resident and high school senior graduating in 2016i-17.  A minimum GPA of 3.0, must be a full time student, complete the online application form: http://bit.ly/2g3o80V    or get one from Teresa in counseling, provide a high school transcript and provide two letters of recommendation.  Write an essay (minimum 500 words; instructions provided with online application.  Application deadline is March 1, 2017.  See financial aid wall for details.

Parents'/Guardians' Rights Notification

Parents/Guardians in the FDCSD have the right to learn about the following qualifications of their child's teacher: state licensure requirements for the grade level and content areas taught, the current licensing status of your child's teacher, and baccalaureate/graduate certification/degree.  You may also request the qualifications of an instructional paraprofessional who serves you student in a Title I program or if your school operates a school-wide Title I program.

Parents/Guardians may request this information from the Human Resource Department by calling 515 574 5654 or sending a letter of request to the Human Resource Department, Administration Office, FDCSD, 104 South 17th Street, Fort Dodge, Iowa  50501.
