FDSH Students Earn 14 Awards at CIML Conference Art Show


April 11, 2017, Fort Dodge, IA-  On April 5th, 30 Fort Dodge Senior High students participated in the CIML Conference Art Show in Ames.  The show included students from Fort Dodge, Ames, Marshalltown and Mason City high schools. 

Each school submitted up to 35 works.  Upon arrival, the students viewed the art show and voted on artwork to receive the Student Choice Award.  The judges awarded at least one Blue Merit and one Honorable Mention per category. 

FDSH students received fourteen awards.

Blue Merit Awards:

Honorable Mention Awards

  • Raeya Love in colored pencil drawings
  • Jordyn Kloss in colored pencil drawings
  • Olyvia Auten in mixed media painting
  • Chelsea Sayer in photography
  • Noah Nafe in photography
  • Lehr Thorson in photography
  • Brayton Rude in ceramic
  • Tommy Holm in ceramic
  • Alexis Erickson in ink drawing
  • Hyunah Na in pastel drawing
  • Brianna Galvan in pastel drawing and in ceramic


“The CIML Conference Art Show is the highest art competition for our school in the state,” stated Lori Daniel, FDSH art instructor.  “It was an honor for our very talented students who were chosen to participate in this show.  We’re very proud of the artwork entered by all of our students and are excited for the students selected for awards.”
