Eleven FDMS Students Selected to River City Honor Band

Eleven FDMS Students Selected to River City Honor Band

April 24, 2017, Fort Dodge, IA-  Eleven fifth and sixth grade students from Fort Dodge Middle School were selected for the 2017 River City Honor Band.  The NCIBA Honor Band performed Saturday, April 22, in Mason City.  The students spent the day rehearsing with band students from other schools before presenting a concert that afternoon.

“We had eleven outstanding students representing Fort Dodge,” said Tara Smith, FDMS band director. “Participating in an honor band gave these musicians a chance to play some very challenging music.  These experiences make them better players and they can also bring what they learned through this experience back to school to share with their peers, making the full band better, too.”
