2023-24 FDCSD Preschool Registration Opens December 1
Preschool registration for the 2023-24 school year opens December 1, 2022, at the Fort Dodge Community School District. Preschool is a free, full day program located at the Early Childhood Center.
Research shows children who attend preschool can gain skills that help prepare them for kindergarten and their learning journey.
“In addition to helping children learn their letters, numbers, shapes and colors, our preschool program also teaches them to follow directions and expectations, to work well with others and how to socialize and interact with other kids and adults,” said Carmen Banwart, principal at the Early Childhood Center. “They also gain confidence in what they can do and belief in themselves.”
To be eligible to attend preschool in the fall of 2023, children must be four years old by September 15, 2023. Spots are limited and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
To complete preschool registration for Fort Dodge Community School District preschool, please visit the FDCSD Central Office, 109 North 25th Street. Parents/guardians need to bring proof of guardianship (birth certificate, DHS documents, court documents, tax documents), immunization records and address verification when they complete preschool registration. Families will not be able to register their student for preschool until all of the required documentation is provided. Central Office is open from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and will open early at 7 a.m. on December 1.
