A Science and Mathematics Ceremony will Honor Seniors Tuesday
At this year’s Senior Mathematics and Science Recognition Ceremony, 89 students from the Class of 2012 will be recognized. The event will be held Tuesday, March 27 at 7 p.m. in the Gail Niceswanger Theater. Math students will be recognized for successfully completing math courses through pre-calculus, and science students will be honored for successfully completing eight or more semesters of science courses.
The students will receive certificates noting their success in these areas. Two leading students will also be named the Outstanding Math Student and Outstanding Science Student. Finally, there will be two scholarships awarded at the ceremony. One scholarship will be given to a mathematics student who intends to become a future middle school or high school mathematics teacher, and the other, a student who aspires to pursue a similar teaching career in science.
Guest speaker at the ceremony will be former Fort Dodge Senior High graduate Dr. Josh Mason from Active Health Chiropractic. Refreshments will follow in the Senior High cafeteria.
