FDCS Foundation Event Raises $80,000: Nearly 400 Attended "Go Big, Go Dodgers"

It was a night of big fun for education during the Fort Dodge Community Schools (FDCS) Foundation Annual Fundraiser, “Go Big, Go Dodgers.” room full of people

Nearly 400 people attended the event held Fri., April 5th at the Fort Frenzy Cardiff Center. Ticket sales, sponsorships, auction items and other donations totaled more than $80,000. 

“We are thrilled with the 2019 numbers,” said FDCS Foundation President Jen Pederson. “Nearly 400 people came out to support education, there was amazing energy and atmosphere at Fort Frenzy.”

Big tailgating games like Giant Jenga and Connect Four were part of the night, along with live music by Lone Tree Revival.

“I think the turnout and the amount of money raised exemplifies the positive momentum in our district,” said Pederson. “Donors, sponsors and those who attended the event sent a message that they support the great things happening in our schools and that they want to help give our students access to educational items that will help them go above and beyond in the classroom.”

The FDCS Foundation helps educators and students go above and beyond what district funding allows with grants for professional development, technology and other educational items. In 2018, gifts to the FDCS Foundation put $46,000 in classrooms for things like programmable robots, math and literacy materials, metal shop tools, music instruments, headphones and more.
