FDCSD Announces new Director of Human Resources

May 29, 2019, Fort Dodge, IA-  The Fort Dodge Community School District is pleased to announce Lisa Negus as the new Director of Human Resources.  She will begin her role on July 1, 2019.

“I'm excited about the experience and knowledge Ms. Negus will bring to the Fort Dodge Community School District,” said Dr. Jesse Ulrich, superintendent.  “She also brings with her a track record of proven success in the human resources field for serving employees and their associations to create the best environment possible for student learning.”

Negus currently serves as the Human Resources Director for the Ames Community School District. In this role, she serves as chief negotiator, designs and leads employee-training initiatives, develops and communicates employment policies and procedures, and provides full-cycle human resources leadership. 

Prior to her current role, she served as an Employee and Labor Relations Consultant for Iowa State University and worked in human resources at the Denver Public Schools in Denver, Colorado. 

“Fort Dodge schools interested me because my roots are in northwest Iowa, I like the size of the community and Dr. Ulrich has a very good reputation in the educational community,” said Negus.  “I have already found Fort Dodge to be welcoming as I started my housing search. More than anything, I look forward to being part of this warm and diverse community!”

Robert Hughes, assistant superintendent who currently oversees human resources, has accepted a position as the shared superintendent between Aplington-Parkersburg and Grundy Center.
