FDCSD Implements 1:1 with Chromebook Distribution
August 7, 2017, Fort Dodge, IA- The Fort Dodge Community School District is implementing a 1:1 initiative for students at the high school as well as 7th and 8th grade students at the middle school. Use of the Chromebooks will assist students in their academic learning.
Chromebooks will be distributed to Fort Dodge Senior High students August 21-24. The following schedule will be used for distribution of the devices from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. in the FDSH science rooms: August 21 seniors, August 22 juniors, August 23 sophomores and August 24 freshmen. If a student is unable to attend on the assigned day, he/she may attend on one of the other dates.
7th and 8th students will receive their Chromebooks during orientation at Fort Dodge Middle School on August 30 and 31.
Students must be registered for school and have both the technology usage form and the damage protection plan form turned in before receiving their devices. In order to participate in the damage protection plan, the fee must be paid by August 18th. Enrollment will not be allowed after this date. For those interested, the damage protection plan is $30 with a $5 discount available for those parents/guardians who watch the online training video available under NEWS at fdschools.org. Parents/guardians who have not already can complete the forms and make the payment at the Central Administration Building, 104 South 17th Street, from 8 – 4:30 Monday through Friday.
