FDCSD Names Butler Elementary Principal for 2021-22
February 12, 2021, Fort Dodge, IA- The Fort Dodge Community School District is pleased to announce Jessica Kruckenberg as the principal at Butler Elementary beginning with the 2021-22 school year. Current principal, Carmen Banwart, will become the principal at the new Early Childhood Center in the fall.
“We are excited to welcome Ms. Kruckenberg to the District,” said Dr. Jesse Ulrich, FDCSD Superintendent. “She is data and equity driven in her beliefs and practices and believes in the success of all learners. These things along with her experience in an urban school district and strong instructional practices will make her an outstanding leader at Butler.”
Kruckenberg currently serves as an extended core, special needs teacher at Waterloo West High School. In this role she implements differentiated lessons with students and collects and reviews data to drive instructional practices. She spent two years as a K-12 extended core instructional coach with the Waterloo Community Schools where she provided district level professional development for staff, collaborated with teachers around student-centered, data driven coaching cycles and organized interventions to best meet the needs of all learners. She also worked as an elementary extended core special needs teacher in Waterloo and was a special education teacher in Eagle Grove prior to that. She received her MA in Educational Administration from the University of Northern Iowa in 2019.
“I am beyond excited to be joining the Dodger Family and get the opportunity to serve the students, families, and staff at Butler Elementary,” Kruckenberg said. “It is evident there has been hard work put in, and I am excited to be a part of it moving forward. Fort Dodge Schools take pride in their students, families, and teachers, and I will be no exception. I cannot wait to showcase the staff and students at Butler Elementary and celebrate the amazing things within the community.”
