FDCSD Offers Grab and Go Lunch for Children Beginning March 23
March 21, 2020, Fort Dodge, IA- The Fort Dodge Community School District will provide free grab and go lunches for children 18 and under beginning Monday, March 23, 2020. The lunches (infant formula and food will not be available) will be distributed weekdays from 11:30 a.m. - 12:20 p.m. at Butler, Cooper, Duncombe and Riverside from a school bus parked near the building entrances. Children 18 and under can pick up lunch at any location regardless of what school they attend, including private schools.
“It was important to us to find a way to continue to provide students meals during the closure,” said Dr. Jesse Ulrich, superintendent. “We are committed to providing the grab and go meals as a resource for all Fort Dodge families during this unprecedented time of extended school closure.”
Families will not have to enter the school and meals will not be consumed onsite. People should remain in their vehicles and pull up next to the school bus parked near the school entrance for window delivery.
The child must be present to receive a lunch. This service offers one lunch per child per day and will continue through the duration of the closure.
