FDMS Students Selected to NCIBA Honor Band
November 21, 2019, Fort Dodge, IA- Six seventh and eighth grade students from Fort Dodge Middle School were selected for the 2019 North Central Iowa Bandmasters Association (NCIBA) Honor Band. The NCIBA Honor Band performed Saturday, November 16, in Algona. The students spent the day rehearsing with band students from other schools before presenting the concert that evening.
Students representing Fort Dodge Middle School were:
Karch Smith - 8th grade – trumpet
Colton Hale - 8th grade – trumpet
Grace Behrens - 7th grade – clarinet
Shelby Stein - 8th grade – flute
Emily Oliver - 8th grade – alto saxophone
Micah Flaherty - 7th grade - trombone
“The students worked hard to prepare the challenging honor band music,” said Ryan Swedean, FDMS band instructor. “I’m proud of the students selected for this honor. They did a great job representing Fort Dodge Middle School and our community at this event.”
