FDMS to Present "Finding Nemo Junior" March 9-10
“Finding Nemo Junior,” the Fort Dodge Middle School 7th and 8th grade musical, will be performed at 7:00 p.m. on March 9 and March 10 in the Fort Dodge Middle School auditorium. Due to the predicted winter weather, the performances are being moved to Friday, March 10, and Saturday, March 11, at 7 p.m. at the FDMS auditorium. If the Friday night performance can not be held due to weather, then performances will be Saturday, March 11, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 12, at 2 p.m.
Nemo is a young clown fish with an undersized fin and an oversized curiosity. His father, Marlin, worries obsessively over him because Nemo is all he has left. When Nemo goes off on his first day of school, Marlin warns him to stay with the class and avoid the dangers of the drop off to deep water, but on a dare Nemo ventures past the drop off and is caught in a scuba diver’s net. While searching for Nemo, Marlin encounters Dory, a blue tang fish who suffers from short term memory loss. Marlin and Dory have quite the adventure on their quest to find Nemo. Meanwhile, Nemo has been dropped off at his new home, a fish tank in Sydney, Australia. The tank gang helps Nemo reunite with his dad. This story teaches the importance of trust and friendship and that love conquers all.
“The annual middle school musical gives students the opportunity to experience a stage musical before high school,” said Joan Ascherl, FDMS vocal instructor. “While it’s an important learning opportunity it also provides the kids the chance to share their talents and make memories.”
General admission tickets are $5.00 each and may be purchased at www.showtix4u.com. Tickets will also be available at the door the nights of the show. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Due to the date changes, tickets purchased online will be honored at the door regardless of the date specified online as long as seats are available. Seats will be first come first serve and the doors will open at 6:00 p.m.
