FDSH to Participate in District Individual Speech Contest
February 23, 2014, Fort Dodge, IA- Fort Dodge Senior High will participate in District Speech Contest Saturday, March 1st , at Bishop Garrigan High School in Algona beginning at 8 a.m. Thirty-seven students from FDSH will compete.
“Our team has grown quite a bit this year, which is exciting,” said Lindey Krug, FDSH speech coach. “The most events a team can bring to a district contest is 40 and we have 32 on our varsity team and 5 on our freshman team. That’s double the number we had last year!”
Students will participate in the following categories: Acting, After Dinner Speaking, Original Oratory, Expository Address, Radio News Announcing, Solo Musical Theatre, Storytelling, Interpretive Reading Prose, Interpretive Reading Poetry, Interpretive Reading Literary Program, Improvisation, Public Address and Reviewing.’
Spectators are welcome to attend the support the students.
