Job Corps Presentation Friday at FDSH
January 20, 2014, Fort Dodge, IA- A representative from Job Corps will be at Fort Dodge Senior High Friday, January 24th, at 10:30 a.m. in the Little Theater. Job Corps is a free education and training program that helps young people, at least 16 years of age that qualify as low income, learn a career, earn a high school diploma or GED and find and keep a good job.
“We are excited to have a Job Corps representative coming to Senior High,” state Peg Christensen, FDSH counselor. “Job Corps helps provide students the skills they need to be successful not only in a career, but also in life.”
Job Corps offers training in over 100 career technical areas, and all of the training programs are aligned with industry certifications. There are 125 centers nationwide, including sites in Denison and Ottumwa.
“This program will be a chance for interested students and parents to learn more about this post-secondary option,” Christensen said.
