Lynnae Harvey Named Interim Cooper Elementary Principal for 19-20
June 6, 2019, Fort Dodge, IA- The Fort Dodge Community School District is pleased to announce Lynnae Harvey as the Interim Cooper Elementary Principal for the 2019-20 school year.
“With over 30 years of experience as a teacher, school counselor, and administrator in Fort Dodge, Mrs. Harvey is a life-long Dodger,” said Dr. Jesse Ulrich, superintendent. “I appreciate her willingness to step up and take on the additional responsibilities as the Interim Cooper Elementary Principal. I'm excited for the staff, students, and parents of Cooper to experience her passion for every child she serves.”
Harvey currently serves as the Director of Special Education for the district. She will continue to fulfill her responsibilities as the Director of Special Education next school year. Harvey's office will be at Cooper Elementary, where a Level III elementary special education program is located.
Prior to becoming the Director of Special Education, Harvey served as an assistant principal at FDSH for four years. In addition, she has experience in school counseling and as an English teacher.
Harvey’s leadership experience also includes coordinating a transition to a Response to Intervention (RtI) structure for high school teachers, instructing teachers in RtI implementation and a shared data team process and facilitating committees in the work toward school transformation.
“I’m excited to lead our Cooper team,” Harvey said. “Many of the classrooms are co-taught with both a general education and a special education teacher in them, so my background will be an asset in the interim principal position. I look forward to working with the Cooper staff to provide the best educational experience for all our students. ”
Current principal, Bruce Hartley, has accepted an assistant principal/activities director position at Fort Dodge Middle School for next year.
