Mental Health Screening Available for Freshmen

August 22, 2012

In an effort to identify early signs of mental health risk factors, the Fort Dodge Community School District is offering freshman students TeenScreen, a confidential mental health screening program.

Mental illness can be a barrier to student learning and academic success with research showing that less than one half of students with mental health issues graduate.  Through this early screening process students who are suffering silently are identified and offered assistance to help them reach their full potential.

TeenScreen will be conducted at Fort Dodge Senior High on Tuesday, September 25. September 14 is the deadline for permission slips to be returned.  Please see the attached letter to parents, question and answer form and permission slip for more details.  If you would like additional information or have questions please contact Lori Degelau, LISW, Bridges Case Manager at Fort Dodge Senior High at 574.5459.
