Nine FDMS Students Selected to NCIBA Honor Band

Nine seventh and eighth grade students from Fort Dodge Middle School were selected for the 2021 North Central Iowa Bandmasters Association (NCIBA) Honor Band.  The NCIBA Honor Band performed Saturday, November 13, in Algona.  The students spent the day rehearsing with band students from other schools before presenting the concert that evening.

Students representing Fort Dodge Middle School were:

Madden Bailey – alto saxophone

Noah Essman – baritone

Tamara Hamilton-Nightthunder – clarinet

Emily Hauswirth – bass clarinet

Teagan Loots - percussion

Izzabella Prather – clarinet

8th Grade 

Harmonie Daigle – clarinet

Joscelyn Kahler – alto saxophone

Maeleena Meyer – clarinet

“These students worked hard and put in extra time to prepare the challenging honor band music,” said Tara Smith, FDMS band instructor. “Participating in an honor band will make them even better musicians.  I’m proud of all of them not only for their efforts, but also for the way they represented Fort Dodge Middle School and our community at the event.”
