Seven FDSH Students Selected to All-State Music Festival
November 7, 2019, Fort Dodge, IA- Students from Fort Dodge Senior High recently auditioned for the 2019 Iowa High School Music Association’s All-State Music Festival. The students selected for the All State Chorus represent the top 1 percent of high school singers in the state. Selection to the All State Chorus is the highest individual honor available to Iowa high school musicians. Seven Dodger vocalists were selected:
Reagan Black – junior – daughter of Jean Black and Dean Black
Cole Hamlow – junior – son of Katie Hamlow and Lance Hamlow
Joey Kelley – junior – son of Scott Kelley and Mandi Crouse-Kelley and Anna Cook
Victoria Pavik – junior – daughter of Michael and Andrea Pavik
Alaina Porter – senior – daughter of Roger and Amy Porter
Sawyer Springer – junior – son of Steve and Juli Springer
Maddy Vinchattle – junior – daughter of Shawn and Allison Hynes
"Preparing music for the All-State audition offers valuable learning and growth for each student,” said Matt Drees, FDSH vocal instructor. “Each of our students who auditioned is a better and stronger musician from having challenged themselves through this process."
The All-State Music Festival takes place November 21-23 in Ames. The final concert will take place on Saturday, November 23, at 7:30 p.m. at Hilton Coliseum in Ames. All seats for the concert are reserved and tickets can be purchased online at Ticketmaster.com or at the Iowa State University Athletics Ticket Office.
