November 6, 2014

November 6, 2014, Fort Dodge, IA-  Thirteen students from the Fort Dodge Middle School were selected for the 2014 North Central Iowa Bandmasters Association (NCIBA) Honor Band.  The NCIBA Honor Band will perform Saturday, November 15, at 5 p.m. at John Adams Middle School in Mason City.

A total of 200 students were selected from north central Iowa’s seventh and eighth grade bands.  The students are divided into two 100 piece bands for the festival and concert.

“We have thirteen great students representing Fort Dodge,” said Roger Steig, FDMS band director.  “Participating in an honor band will give these outstanding musicians a chance to play some very challenging music.  It makes them better players and they can bring what they learn through this experience back to school to share with their peers.”
