Return to Learn Plan

Return To Learn

This spring, the State of Iowa directed all school districts to create a Return to Learn plan outlining how the District will address the disruptions to learning due to the pandemic. Plans were due to the State on July 1, 2020.

Our Return to Learn team has been working to develop plans for what school may look like for students in the Fort Dodge Community School District. Our plan addresses three learning scenarios for fall:

  • At Home Learning Model (learning will be required)
  • At School Learning Model
  • Hybrid Learning Model

Learn more about the at home learning model: student working on computer   ---    learn more about the at school model: student performing chemistry lab    ---   Learn more about the Hybrid learning model: students working with teacher at table

The models are built so that the District can move from one to another with as little disruption as possible. As of July 13, 2020, the FDCSD is planning to use the At School Learning Model when students return on August 25, 2020. The District will be following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, the Iowa Department of Public Health, Webster County Public Health, the Iowa Department of Education and the Office of Governor Reynolds.
