Return To Learn
This spring, the State of Iowa directed all school districts to create a Return to Learn plan outlining how the District will address the disruptions to learning due to the pandemic. Plans were due to the State on July 1, 2020.
Our Return to Learn team has been working to develop plans for what school may look like for students in the Fort Dodge Community School District. Our plan addresses three learning scenarios for fall:
- At Home Learning Model (learning will be required)
- At School Learning Model
- Hybrid Learning Model
The models are built so that the District can move from one to another with as little disruption as possible. The FDCSD began the school year on August 25, 2020, using the At School Learning Model. The District will be following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, the Iowa Department of Public Health, Webster County Public Health, the Iowa Department of Education and the Office of Governor Reynolds.
Here is an overview of what to expect when there is a COVID-19 case in school.
For families who have chosen to utilize the At Home option for their students. Students will be using Edgenuity as their learning platform. Take a look at the student experience through Edgenuity.
