Happy almost Halloween! Dodger Senate is putting on a pumpkin carving competition right now, so send in your best pumpkin art for a chance at a prize! Also this Friday, to celebrate Halloween, dress up in a Halloween costume or simply orange and black, while sticking to dress code. Fort Dodge Senior High has a drivers ed class starting November 3. If you would like to sign up for the course, please see your school counselor to get registered.

Boys’ Basketball open gym at the middle school will continue on Thursday, 10/29 from 6:30 to 7:30. Athletes need to take their temperature before they arrive and be symptom-free.

The next available ACT test will be on December 12th.  The deadline to register for the December ACT test is Friday, November 20th.  Fort Dodge Senior High's Test Center code is 196250.  Register at

Iowa Student loan will award up to 30 scholarships of $2000 each to Iowa high school seniors.  Interested students should go to to register and read the complete scholarship rules between Oct 19 and Feb 26.

The Iowa Newspaper Foundation again has college scholarships available for students preparing for a Newspaper career.  Apply online at by February 12, 2021.

The Iowa PGA Foundation offers an annual scholarship in memory of one of their members Charlie Burkart.  Scholarship winners are sleeted on the basis of their interest and activity in golf, the potential for future contributions to the game, leadership skills/community involvement, then on their academic/professional ability and financial need.  Applications are due by June 18, 2021.  Please stop in counseling for an application form if interested.

Parents'/Guardians' Rights Notification

Parents/Guardians in the FDCSD have the right to learn about the following qualifications of their child's teacher: state licensure requirements for the grade level and content areas taught, the current licensing status of your child's teacher, and baccalaureate/graduate certification/degree.  You may also request the qualifications of an instructional paraprofessional who serves you student in a Title I program or if your school operates a school-wide Title I program.

Parents/Guardians may request this information from the Human Resource Department by calling 515 574 5654 or sending a letter of request to the Human Resource Department, Administration Office, FDCSD, 104 South 17th Street, Fort Dodge, Iowa  50501.
