Winter Break is Coming! ❄️☃️

Miss Iowa visited Duncombe yesterday to read to our students, spending time with each grade level! The students loved hearing the story and getting to meet her in person. It was such a fun and memorable morning filled with smiles, laughter, and learning. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit us and inspire our students!

Learning meets hands-on fun in Middle Health Occupations! Our students are building Effective Communication skills, practicing how to handle challenging situations, and using SBAR for healthcare reporting. They’re also exploring healthcare careers and getting real practice with skills like heart sounds and blood pressure checks—all through engaging role-play! ❤️🩺

Due to impending weather, all Fort Dodge Community Schools will have a 2-hour delay tomorrow, Wednesday, December 10th. A grab-and-go breakfast will be available for students. Stay safe, Dodgers!

Fort Dodge Middle School is receiving a $40,000 Giving Tuesday donation from National Gypsum to upgrade its Industrial Technology program for the 2025–2026 school year. The funds, contributed equally by the Quarry Plant and Gold Bond Plant, will modernize the Industrial Tech space to support Manufacturing, Robotics, Engineering, and Building Trades. A new industry-trained teacher will help deliver hands-on, real-world learning. This donation builds on National Gypsum’s previous $35,000 contribution in 2024 to create the school’s Health Occupations Lab. The district expresses deep gratitude for the company’s continued support of STEM and CTE learning.

Yesterday, Reindeer, Belle & Noelle visited the students and staff at Butler! They were adorable and so much fun to see up close, spreading joy and smiles to everyone this season. Thank you, Antler Acre in Huxley, IA, for bringing them to us! 🦌✨

Congratulations to the Student of the Week, Milo Takatsuka. Milo is a 4th grader at Feelhaver Elementary. Milo is a very kind-hearted student. He gets along well with everyone and is a great friend. He strives to do all the right things and always follows Feelhaver's expectations. Milo takes his learning seriously and is a very hard worker. Way to go Milo, FDCSD is so proud of you.
