Congratulations to our student of the week, Stella Ray!
She is a 5th grader at Duncombe Elementary. Principal Ryan Flaherty had this to say about Stella, "She has a positive attitude and is a true role model at Duncombe Elementary. She is a dedicated and responsible student who consistently completes her work on time and to the best of her ability. She follows school expectations each day, showing respect, kindness, and integrity in everything she does. As a strong example of the 7 Habits from Leader in Me, she is proactive, sets meaningful goals, works well with others, and always strives to do her best. She shows her leadership skills by participating in the Student Lighthouse Team at Duncombe."

✍️ Pages 1, 2, and the top of page 4 must be completed and signed by a parent before seeing the provider.
📌 Physical forms must be uploaded to your student’s Bound account before participating in any school activities. Contact your school’s Athletic Trainer if you need assistance.
💉 Webster County Health will also be on site offering vaccinations for students needing updated shots. A consent form is required and can be picked up at the MS or HS Nurse’s Office.

Congratulations to our student of the week, David Cardenas! He is a 11th grader at Ft Dodge Senior High. David volunteers his time to help with peer tutoring after school. He excels at explaining concepts to his peers in a way that is kind and supportive. He is always willing to work with a peer on any subject. Way to go David, FDCSD is so proud of you!

From tiny hands to big dreams, ECC students shared what makes their school special, from fun activities to caring teachers and friends who make every day exciting. Their curiosity, joy, and big hearts remind us why public schools are so important.
Linda Portillo Lopez feels happy at the ECC because, "Learning makes me happy. I like puzzles. My favorite center is with Barbie's."
Waylen Egeland is so happy at the ECC because, "Everybody helps me."
Director of Preschool, Nicole Ahrens wants everyone to know why the ECC is so special. "What makes our school special is the joy you feel the moment you walk through the doors. It lives in our classrooms, at specials, and on the playground. Walk down the hall and you’ll be greeted with laughter, smiles, cheerful hellos—and often a hug. That genuine happiness reflects a community where students and staff love learning, love each other, and love being here."

🏫Butler is in the spotlight for Public Schools Week!

Cael Jaeschke explains what makes him proud to be at Butler Elementary, "The nice students and good friendships. Also the teachers here support student's academics and help them solve problems with peers. We go on fun field trips, get to shop at the Leader Store, and we have a great playground."
Carter Bjorklund feels happy at Butler because, "I get to hang out with friends, especially playing football at recess. I like learning new things and improving my skills.This was my first year at Butler, and as a 5th grader is was easy to make new friends. I love making other people feel comfortable and able to express themselves and their feelings because the school is a safe environment to do that in. "
Principal Laura Resnick wants everyone to know what makes Butler a special place , "Above all, what makes Butler a special place are the people. The staff go above and beyond to support students and one another. It's not just teachers, our paraeducators, our support staff, our custodial staff and our front desk staff make every student feel seen and heard. Our students are resilient and inclusive. Our older students mentor our younger students, and our halls are filled with artifacts of their learning and growing. The Butler family extends beyond our walls with special programs and frequent visits from community partners like our Butler Builders, Confidence Classes with Southside, Student Mentors, BHIS, Berryhill and AFES. At the end of the day we are a family who takes care of each other, and this is what makes Butler so special. "

Jenson Litwiller explains how FDSH has prepared him for his future after he graduatues, "I attribute my readiness to my counselor. Counselors here at FDSH offer very personalized help. Meeting with my counselor makes it very convenient when I need to adjust my schedule, ask a specific question, or even set up a college visit.Also, I am more aware of my future opportunities here at the FDSH because of the many clubs and activities offered. "
