The Fort Dodge Community School District is pleased to announce that Joshua Schaefer has been selected as the new Assistant Principal at Fort Dodge Middle School beginning the 2025–2026 school year. “I am thrilled to begin this new chapter as Assistant Principal at Fort Dodge Middle School!” Schaefer said. “I am eager to embrace new challenges, support and learn from others, and honored to join such a highly respected and successful district. I look forward to partnering with teachers, students, administrators, coaches, and community members to build upon the district’s many strengths and help shape an even more exceptional future together.” Schaefer holds a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa and a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Northwest Missouri State. Throughout his career, he has focused on fostering school environments where students feel seen, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. His work has emphasized building strong relationships with students and families, supporting high-quality instruction, and cultivating inclusive, collaborative school cultures. In April, FDSH students participated in Iowa Central Community College's Health Science Competition, winning 1st and 2nd place! The competition was a timed race. Students went to various health science programs throughout campus where they were able to learn skills and then test on those skills. Once they completed the required task and answered questions correctly they were given clues for their next station. The teams that completed all of the stations the fastest were named winners.
