🔴 Name, character you are in the musical, what are your plans after highschool?
My name is Owen Hamlow, I play Gomez Addams in the Spring Musical, and after high school I plan to attend Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa to major in music composition with the intention of going to grad school and earning a PhD in that field.
⚫How has being in musical/theater shaped who you are today?
Being in musicals and theatre has pushed me into many leadership positions and forced me to interact with people I am not used to interacting with. I also have gotten much better at speaking in public and coming out of my shell, this has made me comfortable in some of my classes throughout high school, ESPECIALLY public speaking.
🔴 What's your favorite backstage memory?
Some of my favorite backstage memories are of me trying to make people laugh and break character while they're on stage, high risk no reward for them and no risk high reward for me.
⚫What will you miss most about high school?
I think I will miss my friends most, I've rolled with the same group of friends since elementary school and before and it is going to be a difficult transition to school without them.
🔴What would you say to a underclassmen who are thinking about joining musical theatre?
I would say it's definitely something to try if you can fit it into your schedule, a lot of people do sports and clubs in the spring along with the musical, and while it sounds daunting, it isn't as bad as people say, you can have a great time doing both, but you definitely need to stay on top of your schedule.

Congratulations to this weeks Student of the Week, Dylan Marin Campos. He is 3rd grader at Butler Elementary. Dylan shows many qualities of a good leader. In the classroom he leads with kindness and shows empathy towards everyone. Helping his peers is something he does daily. He has always stood up for himself and for what is right. Butler is lucky to have him as a student. Way to go Dylan, FDCSD is so proud of you! #proud2bFD
