S&P Global Ratings has assigned Fort Dodge Community School District an A+ bond rating on our Series 2026 General Obligation School Bonds!
This kind of rating doesn't happen by accident. It's the result of years of careful financial planning, responsible budgeting, and a commitment to being good stewards of taxpayer resources. It means our district is well-positioned to secure lower interest rates on
borrowing — which translates to real, long-term savings for our community.

At the public hearing, any resident or taxpayer may present objections to or arguments in favor of the proposed budget.

Today, students at Duncombe Elementary proudly shared their Leadership Portfolios with members of our community. We are so grateful to everyone who joined us to listen, encourage, and celebrate the incredible dedication these students have shown.

During these presentations, students reflected on their lessons learned, the goals they’ve pursued, and their significant growth as leaders this year. To our community guests: thank you for investing your time in our students. Your support is invaluable to our learning journey.

Congratulations to our student of the week, Charlotte Peterson! She is a preschooler at the ECC. Charlotte is kind to others, always completes her work, and listens carefully to both teachers and friends. She is always happy to help others, share, and be a great friend. We are so proud of her! Meet Alisa, Our New Family Support Coordinator

Alisa, a lifelong Fort Dodge resident, brings 26 years of experience to her new role helping families connect with the resources they need to thrive. Passionate about supporting families, she has a deep understanding of the community and the many “hidden treasures” Webster County has to offer.

In her new role, Alisa will work closely with students and families of the FDCSD and Webster County to identify needs, remove barriers, and coordinate services, ensuring every family has the support necessary to succeed. This work is strengthened by the district’s recent Restore Hope Grant, which provides additional resources for early intervention, relationship-based support, and community connections.

Outside of work, Alisa enjoys spending time with her husband, Andy, and their two children. Dalton is pursuing his PhD at Ohio State University, and Rian will attend Cornell College this fall to study Secondary Education while playing volleyball and softball. Alisa also enjoys camping and being outdoors.

With her experience, local roots, and passion for families, Alisa is ready to make a lasting impact in Fort Dodge.

Congratulations to our Student of the Week, Lorryn Alexander! She is a 2nd grader at Feelhaver Elementary. We recognize her this week as she is very kind and a great friend to her peers. She is eager to learn new things both at school and outside of school. Lorryn follows all school expectations and is a great role-model to her peers. Lorryn is always a joy to have in the class. Our 9th-grade students participated in a Gear Up Career Exploration Day, visiting the Fort Dodge Fire Department and the Fort Dodge Regional Airport. This partnership with Iowa Central Community College allows students to see first hand how our community stays safe and connected. From emergency medicine to aviation logistics, our students are exploring high-impact career paths right here in our own backyard. 🚒✈️
