We’re excited to share that registration for Fort Dodge Preschool opens Monday, November 17th!

Fort Dodge Preschool is a free, full-day program for families in our district. New for the 2026–2027 school year, we’re introducing flexible programming options — including half-day classes, wraparound daycare, and transportation as needed.

Families can register in person at the Central Office starting November 17th.

Haylinn is continuously showing leadership skills by following expectations and being a helper to her peers while learning how to write letters. Coats for Kids Donations Now Being Accepted!

The Community Health Center of Fort Dodge and Shimkat Motor Company have kicked off their annual Coats for Kids drive — and they’re asking for your help to keep local children warm this winter!

💙 How You Can Help:
Donate new or gently used clean coats, gloves, hats, snow pants, or boots (all sizes — infant through high school) now through November 14, 2025 at:

Drive through and staff will bring the right-sized coat directly to your vehicle.

Started by Lisa Shimkat more than a decade ago, Coats for Kids continues to bring together local businesses, schools, and generous community members — ensuring every child in Fort Dodge has a warm coat for winter.

Members of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee volunteered to be part of the Duncombe Leader In Me Assembly on Friday. The high schoolers read from a script that included role playing and discussions regarding time management and being responsible when it comes to balancing academics, athletics, and activities!
Studies show the connections between high school students and elementary students is very important! Thank you to all who were involved in making this a fun experience!

Last night at the School Board Meeting, Manuela was recognized for her athletic achievement in qualifying for the State Tennis Tournament! 🎾

Her coach, Julie Astor, had this to share about Manuela:

"Qualifying for state is no small feat - it takes dedication, long hours of practice and a strong competitive spirit. Manuela has embodied all of that. She has been a leader on and off the court, as her coach for the past three seasons I was ecstatic that she persevered and was 1 of 16 singles players to reach the state tournament."

We are so proud of Manuela and the way she represents Fort Dodge Community Schools both on and off the court! ❤️🖤

Congratulations to our Student of the Week, Mia Greiner. She is a 5th grader at Feelhaver. Mia has consistently been a great role-model for her peers. She is always upbeat and kind to everyone. Mia demonstrates amazing leadership skills by following the school and classroom expectations. Mia is fun to be around and lights up the classroom. FDCSD is so proud of you Mia!
