This activity pairs English Learners with students from Profe’s Spanish class and the Mejor Juntos (Better Together) group. Together, they practice English and Spanish while enjoying coffee, hot cocoa, and great conversation. The experience has been fun and inspirational, with students engaging, connecting, and enjoying the opportunity to learn from one another!

They viewed a virtual tour of an ethanol plant and saw the entire process, from the farmer delivering corn, to loading up the by-product to take back and feed to his livestock. Students performed a scientific experiment and made their own ethanol in a Ziplock bag.

This contribution will help fund the creation of a Health Occupations Lab at Fort Dodge Middle School, supporting the district’s Health Occupations Class and its mission to introduce students to careers in the healthcare field.
