Students in Mrs. Moser & Mr. Read’s biology classes participated in an exercise lab to learn about gas exchange in the cardiovascular system. Students got to choose a type of exercise and measured heart and respiration rates to explain how the human body regulates oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the blood.

Kindergarten students at Early Childhood Center have been practicing their counting skills and comparing groups within 10. They have also been writing their numbers to represent 'how many' of something and answering 'how many' of something.
To give them another opportunity to practice these skills, some students had a pizza party! They filled out papers to create their recipe by choosing how many of each topping they wanted. Then, students made their own pizza with toppings such as pepperoni, peppers, pineapple, and sausage.

Congratulations to our Student of the Week!

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) is a student led organization. FDMS student Cameron Beck approached Dalton Summers, Behavioral Interventionist at the middle school, to start a group at FDMS. Dalton then started the process of getting trained and licensed to help support this effort.
Dalton says, "I wanted students to understand no matter what they’ve done and no matter what has happened to them they have a purpose in this world! I feel like it’s important because sometimes in the middle school a lot of kids may feel lost. They don’t know their identity, but I truly believe that this can help them believe in themselves and no matter what God is always going to love them."
Last week, FDSH FCA was also present at the middle school.
FDMS FCA meets each Thursday morning at 7:15.

Mrs. Grossnickle’s 3rd grade class at Duncombe Elementary had an exciting morning with a mock interview activity! After studying two renowned giant squid researchers, Dr. Roper and Dr. Kubodera, through their book Giant Squid, students crafted their own interview questions and took turns playing the roles of these scientists. They used their knowledge of the researchers and giant squid to answer each question.

Mrs. Adams’ Honors English 10A students recently hosted a Culture Carnival as part of their class project! Each student was invited to bring a dish, artifact, or piece of clothing that represents their heritage. The activity encouraged students to connect their backgrounds with themes from The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, which they’ve been studying in class.
The Culture Carnival also helped students recognize and celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month, expanding the discussion to include everyone’s unique cultural backgrounds. This activity sparked meaningful conversations and allowed students to learn more about one another through shared traditions and values.
